CLONTARF REFURBISHMENT
John & Anne were living in their Clontarf home for 24 years. As the home was in need of modernisation, they considered the option of moving to a new home, but after a lot of discussion, they decided to do a complete refurbishment of their existing home. The difficult part was that this meant that they had to move out for 3 months whilst the construction work was completed, but the outcome was well worth the wait. The clients main priorities were to create an open plan living space and improve the energy efficiency of the house. They succeeded with both of these.
The old oil boiler was removed and replaced with an energy efficient natural gas condensing boiler. They installed Solo Radiator on the recommendation of their plumber Mick Durnin from MD Heating and Plumbing in Balgriffin. Mick felt Solo Radiator were the perfect solution for this job as the compact design of the Solo Radiator would quickly heat the large open plan spaces without taking up a large amount of wall space. Another important benefit was that because Solo Radiator operate effectively at much lower water temperatures than standard radiators, condensing boilers can be made condense under all load circumstances, and this results in major energy saving.
“We are very pleased with the result and are looking forward to a warm, cosy home this winter”
